DANCO METAL PRODUCTS RECEIVES THE YWCA WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Georgia Danielson, Director of Quality and Operations Recognized for Outstanding Performance and Lifetime Achievements
May 4th, 2009) – Cleveland, Ohio – On May 4th, Georgia Danielson was among the honored recipients of the 2009 YWCA Women of Achievement Award. Established in 1977, the Woman of Achievement Award is one of the most prestigious honors for women in Cleveland. The award honors women who demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities, as well as excellence, accomplishments and commitment in their careers and communities. Women chosen to receive this award are role models and mentors. They have played significant roles in helping other women achieve their goals. The award recipients also exemplify the YWCA mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
Georgia Danielson is a third generation Danielson responsible for the 69 years of successful growth in metal manufacturing. Traditionally a male-dominated profession, Georgia has focused her 28-years with Danco in improving quality control and operations. She utilizes her background in business development and production analysis to help customers achieve goals while streamlining cost and production time.
As the company’s owner, Georgia established the company as a female-owned business, affording Danco with an opportunity to network with companies who are looking to partner with minority owned businesses. “Manufacturing is a competitive business for everyone, male or female. I’m proud to be a female owner of such a fine organization.”
Georgia and the entire Danielson family is well known for their sense of giving in the community. For years, Danco has provided support for Industrial Arts classes at various regional high schools by offering in-class workshops, metal materials and plant tours. Additionally, Danco helps local fire departments in designing custom plates for fire engines whenever needed. Danco is also proud to sponsor Arts Fest 2009, a community festival that celebrates the balance of art and nature produced by TrueNorth Cultural Arts for the City of Avon Lake. “It is our mission to give back to the community in as many ways as possible. We are so fortunate to be able to provide our services, knowledge and capital to drive important community services,” explains Georgia. “If we all give back, we can surely make a difference,” she adds.
